Hi, I’m Hoda, a Zernio partner.
I covered what Zernio does and how it works in a separate article, Zernio’s features and how it works, but this time I want to zoom in specifically on the pricing and go a bit deeper. I know “okay, but what does this actually cost me” can be hard to picture, so I’ll walk through some concrete simulations too.
The basic approach: pay for what you use, no plan-based feature gates
The first thing to understand about Zernio’s pricing is that the concept of a “plan” barely exists. Most social media management tools gate features tier by tier — a Free plan here, a Pro plan there — but Zernio uses a usage-based model where you pay based on how many social accounts you’ve connected, full stop.
Posting, analytics, messaging (comments and DMs), ad management, webhooks — every feature is unlocked from the very first free account. There’s basically no such thing as “a feature you only get on a higher tier,” which is a real departure from most other social media management tools.
The pricing structure splits into two broad types:
- Self-serve: just add a credit card and start using it immediately, no sales conversation needed
- Enterprise: the same features as Self-serve, plus admin capabilities like SSO and audit logs, under custom contract terms
How per-account billing works
Zernio’s pricing is set per connected social account, per month. It’s graduated — the more accounts you connect, the lower the per-account rate gets.
| Accounts | Monthly rate (per account) |
|---|---|
| First 2 accounts | Free (no credit card required) |
| Accounts 3–10 | $6/account |
| Accounts 11–100 | $3/account |
| Accounts 101–2,000 | $1/account |
| 2,001+ accounts | Self-serve stays at $1; Enterprise has volume discounts |
The key point is that each rate only applies to the accounts in that specific band. If you’ve connected 10 accounts, the $3 rate that kicks in at account 11 doesn’t retroactively apply to all 10 — accounts 3 through 10 are billed at $6/account, full stop.
A real pricing simulation
This is easier to follow with concrete numbers than with words, so here are a few account-count scenarios.
| Connected accounts | Total monthly cost | Average cost per account |
|---|---|---|
| 2 accounts | $0 | $0 |
| 3 accounts | $6 | ~$2.00 |
| 10 accounts | $48 | $4.80 |
| 30 accounts | $108 | $3.60 |
For example, someone running 3 personal accounts across X, LinkedIn, and Instagram would pay just $6/month. An agency juggling 30 accounts across multiple clients would land around $108/month. The design intent is clear: the per-account rate keeps shrinking as your account count grows.
Features included on every account

Regardless of pricing tier, every connected account gets unlimited access to the following:
- Scheduled posting/publishing: works across every platform, unlimited posts, supports threaded posts and auto-posted first comments, plus a calendar view
- Analytics: impressions, reach, engagement, follower growth, and more, pulled across all platforms
- Messaging: read and send DMs
- Comments and reviews: reply to comments, manage reviews
- Ad management: boost posts, create ad campaigns
- Webhooks: get post status, messages, comments, and more in real time
There’s essentially none of the usual feature-gating you’d expect — no “that’s a Free-tier limitation” or “you need a higher plan to see analytics.”
X (Twitter) is the one platform billed separately
The one place cost is layered on top of the per-account pricing above is X (Twitter). That’s not a Zernio markup — X charges for its own API on a per-request basis, and Zernio passes that cost straight through with no markup.
| Action | Rate |
|---|---|
| Reads (posts, analytics, list lookups, etc.) | $0.005/request |
| User info reads / follow-related actions | $0.010/request |
| Posting / sending DMs | $0.015/request |
| Posts containing a URL | $0.200/request |
X-specific analytics and inbox syncing are opt-in features — if you don’t turn them on, they cost nothing. If you post to X frequently, it’s worth budgeting for this pass-through cost ahead of time.
Phone numbers, calls, SMS, and WhatsApp pricing
Beyond social platforms, Zernio also handles provisioning phone numbers, SMS, and WhatsApp business messaging. This is usage-based too.
| Item | Rate |
|---|---|
| Dedicated phone number (covers 50+ countries; one number handles calls, SMS, and WhatsApp) | From $2/month (prorated daily) |
| Calls (outbound/inbound, varies by country) | From $0.01/minute |
| Call recording (optional, off by default) | $0.004/minute |
| Outbound SMS | From $0.008/message |
| Inbound SMS (billed on US numbers only; free elsewhere) | $0.010/message |
| Carrier registration (10DLC, US SMS only, one-time) | $9 flat |
| Campaign usage fee (monthly, for US SMS) | From $4/month |
| WhatsApp service messages (within the 24-hour response window) | Free |
| WhatsApp template messages | Follows Meta’s own pricing |
| WhatsApp calls (inbound) | Free |
| WhatsApp calls (outbound) | Carrier fee + Meta’s fee |
Self-serve vs. Enterprise
The feature set itself is identical between Self-serve and Enterprise — the differences are in support and admin tooling.
| Self-serve | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|
| Support | Chat and email | Dedicated Slack channel (with engineers) |
| Payment | Credit card, monthly | Credit card, monthly (invoicing/net terms available) |
| Admin features | Standard only | SAML SSO, SCIM, MFA, audit logs, role-based access control |
| Rate above 2,000 accounts | Stays at $1/account | Negotiated volume discount |
| Compliance | SOC 2 and GDPR materials via the trust portal | Same |
Unless you’re running accounts at serious scale, or you specifically need admin features like SSO or audit logs, Self-serve is generally built to cover everything you’d need.
Platform coverage
Alongside pricing, it’s worth knowing the breadth of what Zernio actually connects to.
- Social platforms (12): X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, Reddit, Pinterest, Bluesky, Snapchat, Google Business Profile
- Messaging (3): WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord
- Ad networks (7): Meta Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads, X Ads, OpenAI Ads
That’s 15 platforms across social and messaging alone, and 22 total once you add the ad networks — a genuinely broad footprint compared to similar tools, all covered under the same pricing model and the same API.
FAQ
Does every account get the same features?
Yes. Every connected account gets scheduled posting, analytics, inbox (comments and DMs), full API access, and unlimited posts as standard. There’s no paid add-on tier or feature split by plan.
How much can I use for free?
The first two social accounts you connect are completely free, with no credit card required. That includes analytics and inbox — the same features as paid accounts, no watered-down version.
What payment methods are supported?
Major credit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express — processed through Stripe.
Are there setup fees or contract lock-in?
No setup fees, no hidden costs, and no contract length requirement. Billing is monthly, based on account count.
Can I cancel individual accounts partway through?
Yes, you can disconnect any account at any time, and billing for that account stops immediately. No cancellation fees or penalties.
Do you offer refunds?
Since billing is usage-based, you’re only ever charged for the time an account was actually connected — there’s no concept of refunding a prepaid period, since disconnecting an account simply stops the charges for it. If there’s a billing error or an outage causes an incorrect charge, support can issue a credit.
Can I schedule video posts?
Yes — video scheduling is supported for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram (Reels), Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest, across the major video formats.
Do I need to be a developer to use this?
Zernio is fundamentally built for developers and technical teams — you’ll want to be comfortable calling an API. That said, it also works with no-code tools like n8n, Make, and Zapier, so running it without writing code directly is possible too.
How reliable is the service?
It maintains 99.7%+ uptime and has delivered more than 2 million posts to date. Infrastructure runs on Vercel, distributed globally, with real-time monitoring of post delivery status.

Wrapping up
Zernio’s pricing model — usage-based per account, every feature unlocked from day one — is a real departure from the typical SaaS social media tool. Having the first two accounts free indefinitely is a genuinely strong deal if you’re testing the waters or running things solo. That said, it’s worth simulating your own numbers ahead of time around the X API pass-through costs, the phone/messaging usage fees, and how costs climb as your account count grows.
I’ve also put together a guide on building your own free social posting system with Zernio and Google Sheets!
